Jaseng and VUIM Sign MoU to Advance Integrative Medicine Collaboration

On March 12, 2025, Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine and the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine (VUIM) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic collaboration, research partnerships, and educational exchanges in integrative medicine.

Founded in 2004 and located in Fairfax, Virginia, VUIM is an accredited educational institution specializing in acupuncture, herbal medicine, and integrative medical practices. It is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM) and offers Master's and Doctoral degree programs emphasizing holistic patient care, clinical excellence, and innovative research. VUIM is renowned for its rigorous curriculum, extensive clinical training, and commitment to research-driven integrative health education. The university operates clinics that provide hands-on training for students and directly contribute to community health. It is also recognized as one of the fastest-growing integrative medicine universities in the United States, actively working to enhance healthcare quality both nationally and internationally.
VUIM CEO John Yoo expressed great enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting Jaseng Hospital's global leadership in integrative medicine. He emphasized the significant potential and mutual opportunities for joint initiatives to further advance integrative and Korean medicine on a global scale.

Dr. Jin Ho Lee, the medical director of Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine, also expressed his excitement regarding the collaboration with VUIM, stating that this partnership represents an excellent opportunity to engage and target the US healthcare community.

Through this strategic partnership, Jaseng Hospital and VUIM aim to facilitate faculty and student exchanges, organize joint academic workshops and seminars, and conduct impactful research projects. Jaseng also plans to host workshop seminars at VUIM targeting students and physicians, as well as annual programs designed to offer firsthand experiences with Korean medicine and the Korean healthcare system. Additionally, both institutions intend to explore further opportunities in research and education to continually enhance integrative medicine globally.

This collaborative effort underscores both institutions' commitment to enhancing patient care, fostering evidence-based research, and integrating best practices from Eastern and Western medical traditions.
